Transportation to Clark County Fairgrounds for FREE H1N1 Vaccination

IMPACT Bethel is working with Clark County Combined Health district to vaccinate Clark county residents against H1N1.  The first H1N1 vaccination clinic was held on Tuesday October 27th.  Until all persons are vaccinated, vaccinations will be given at the Clark County fairgrounds on Tuesdays from 12-8.  The next scheduled clinic is on Tuesday November 3.

If you live in Bethel Township and are unable to travel to the fairgrounds on your own, free transportation is available to you.  Please contact Carrie by phone (937-307-5874) or by email (carrie@impactbethel.org) to schedule a ride.

There are wheelchair accessible vehicles available.  For those bringing young children please provide your own car seat or booster seat.

The Clark County Combined Health District has asked that people pre-register.  You can do this at their web site www.ccchd.com.  Once you have completed the form print it and bring it with you to the clinic.  If you do not have access to a computer or printer forms can be completed at the fairgrounds.

For more information you can visit www.flu.gov

Currently the following groups are able to receive the vaccine:

·         Pregnant women

·         Persons who live with or provide care for infants aged <6 months (e.g., parents, siblings, and daycare providers)

·         Health-care and emergency medical services personnel

·         Persons aged 6 months--24 years

·         Persons aged 25--64 years who have medical conditions that put them at higher risk for influenza-related complications

If you do not fall into one of the above groups you must wait to get your vaccine.  Plenty of vaccines will be available.  However, those who are at a higher risk for influenza-related complications are being vaccinated first.
